Topaz Social is built from the ground up to integrate powerful social networking paradigms of users, profiles, follow/followers, and activity streams into CRM business flows. The goal is to leverage social networking principles and best practices, and allow for rich interactions and conversations with the customer, resulting in significant efficiencies in the sales, marketing, and service processes. Technologies

Topaz Social is built on Rails3, with MongoDB as the database. User authentication is done using devise and omniauth (for Facebook/Twitter login). Mongomapper is used to access the MongoDB database. Views are developed in erb, with minimal CSS, allowing for easy customization.

We continually strive to keep the gem dependencies of Topaz Social to a minimum.

Deployment

Topaz Social can be deployed in-premise on a private cloud on Linux/Windows servers which can run Ruby/Rails and MongoDB.

Topaz Social can also be deployed to well-known public clouds such as Heroku, Rackspace Cloud, Amazon EC2, Linode.
